Tuesdays Favorites

This Tuesday I chose an artist that has been a favorite of mine for some years now. When I first saw one of Nikki Mcclure prints I instantly feel in love with her work. I love her simple words and down to earth feel in each print. I bought this calender as a new year gift for myself and every month love changing the page each month to see the next beautiful image. A wonderful ritual each month!

 A few prints of hers I love…

Lazy Day Afternoon

Yesterday was a lazy sunday, much needed.

Spent most the morning

sipping coffee…

and playing around with a new idea of sewing small pouches for my bags.

Afternoon brought me large fluufy clouds so I took a rest…

Picked some garden veggies

and took a rest in the dry summer grass.

Tuesdays Favorites

Hello All,

This week is the beginning of a weekly tradition. Every Tuesday I will pick an artist from Etsy, my own community, or from anywhere. And display my favorite piece of theirs on my blog every Tuesday! Hope you enjoy the picks! Happy Tuesday…

This week I want to share a print with you from an Etsy shop called thewheatfield. She has a wonderful bright color pallet and great words that speak in each print. This shop was one of the first that I hearted on Etsy so I felt like it was a good fit for my first pick! Living on the ocean my whole life this piece just speaks to me, nothing like that first dip into the salty sea each summer to rejuvenate you!

New! Barnacle Bag Design

Here are some photos of my new hemp canvas rucksack. It is a roll top and then has straps that snap the top shut. The cool thing is the bag is made with 100% organic fabric. Feels good to be moving towards having all my bags made with either recyled or organic fabrics!

Pies At The Market!

For the past moth Piper and I have been baking pies to have at our farmers market stand, where we sell our knit and sewn wares! We wanted to have an item that flew off the table and sure enough pies have done the trick! All our fruit for the pies are from our home Lopez Island and the pies are made with 100% organic ingredients. Friday nights we spend pie baking! We have been just doing rhubarb pies but this week it looks like there are some ripe strawberries around so it will be a rhubarb strawberry mix!

Happy Summer Solstice!

Wild roses are blooming all over the island right now, the smell is glorious, every time I walk by a bush I take a deep breath inhaling the sweet smell of wild rose!

So this solstice morning I decided to pick some rose buds and make a necklace.

Sunday Cruise

                Rowed out to our sailboat…

Motored over to the county dock to make it easier to set up the mast

and on the way enjoyed being on the water!

Then Finn ate some pretty grass I collected…

And soon we realized some of the hardware to put the mast up was bent so we only half way set up the boat.

thought about how pretty the kelp was…

                    then motored back home!

Beautiful day on the water, a blustery fluffy cloud kind of day!

Hope you had a lovely Sunday!

Day In The Garden

Finally the garden is coming to life!  It has been a long and wet spring here in the northwest making it difficult for transplants and seeds in the ground. But today I was out weeding and got over joyed with the progress of my starts. This year I tried some stuff that I had never grew before like corn, peppers and poppies, so far all are looking good. Its beginning to look like we might have a big garden this year!   Happy Gardening to all that are growing food this year~!
